"Coming to the United states was a miracle enough. I really wasn't expecting an immediate access to the college there but God made a way.

Paying for tuition was tough especially since it was in US currency but God provided and now I'm successfully graduating from my first year of Nursing at age 19."

"It all started in the month of January or February when there was an issue with my phone screen. It became worse, COVID came to Jamaica, we had to switch to online classes and my phone wasn't smart enough to open a pdf drive!
I had to send my notes to my sister's phone and she would screenshot it and send me my notes. It's not only the screen that was giving problems but the sound: it kept chipping in and out.
So I said: "Oh bwoy I don't have any money and I don't know where it's coming from. God, please bless me with a phone, a good one too with a good camera"
At this point, I was hopeless because I didn't know where it was coming from. So I cried and prayed. I prayed almost every night in June or July to ask God for a phone but because of EJC, my faith had grown with their testimonies.

I was on a call with my brother, I wasn't talking about the phone and I only called him to just check if everything was okay, he said yes.
He said to me that he was coming to Jamaica I said 'really?' not knowing I would get a phone then he said 'I am going to buy you a phone' and I said 'okay!'

I was so excited. When he came to Jamaica I got my phone and I just thank the Man above for answering my prayers. I am thankful for the phone. I never saw this coming, I just have to thank God and thank my brother."

"I used to read my bible a lot as a non-Christian but could not make sense of anything.

I also felt frustrated and empty as to where my life was going.

I finally decided to stop running because that is how I felt, like I was running from something or someone. I had so many questions I wanted to know about the bible and understanding God’s purpose for my life.

Getting baptized in the Sunday faith I thought that everything would be solved, but I only felt emptier. Not satisfied, one Friday evening after work I went to the Seventh-day Adventist church to find what time their service began.

I was working on Saturdays at that time and this would be a challenge, but that first Sabbath I experienced was like drinking a tall glass of cool water. It was refreshing, different and fulfilling. I had never experienced anything like it. The bible class had me hooked, I was getting answers. I requested bible study and it was great! All I had been reading in my bible and all those questions was falling into place.

I resigned my job the following Saturday.
I was on my way to work, when I turned around, went home got dress and went to church.

I was also told by members of the church that I attended on a Sunday that the Sabbath is not a day of worship. But I read the book “The Almost Forgotten Day” by Mark Finley which helped me make my decision about the Sabbath.

I finally made the decision to be rebaptized in the Adventist faith and in less than a month got a new job.

When Jesus told the parables of the hidden treasure and the pearl, I saw myself in those parables; the hidden treasure (me!) and the pearl of great price (Jesus Christ) which meant so much more to me than a job. I wanted to know what God’s word meant for my life and I took that step.

Today as I look back on my journey, I do encourage those who read this not to hesitate or put off giving Christ a chance in your life. He is knocking today, open your heart and let Him in."
